About Us

BCC Title

Our desire as a church is to live according to the principles that God has revealed to us in the Bible and to proclaim the good news of His love for us through Jesus Christ to Bicester and the surrounding villages. We seek to do this by focussing on 3 main areas that God has shown us to be particularly important. We recognise that we cannot do this in our own strength but need the continual equipping power of The Holy Spirit.

Prophetic Vision

We are the result of a prophetic vision for churches linked together relationally across the county. Once here God showed us we were to be like an oak tree - organic, growing and reproducing. We believe we are a part of what God is doing alongside the other churches of Bicester. We believe God has spoken specifically to us about having a community focus, partly outworked through our work at The Kabin. We are keen to never lose our first love and seek to avoid the lukewarmness towards God’s kingdom associated with many in our culture.

A Pattern Of Corporate Church Life

Throughout the year we will seek to develop a strategy which allows us to work out our vision. We see the period from September to December as a key opportunity to "WIN" others, drawing them closer to the Lord through Alpha and other means. From January to April we see new Christians being "DISCIPLED", challenged to become radical followers of Jesus through teaching, courses and personal pastoring. From June through to August we see ourselves as "SENT" in a more strategic way to our friends, neighbours and even the nations, with the intention to draw others in again during the Autumn.

Weekly Gatherings

We believe that the smaller group setting is where personal worship, relational family life and outward vision can be effectively encouraged and more personally considered. This is accomplished through an informal meeting, which could involve prayer, testimony, bible study, breaking bread, guided discussion, practising spiritual gifts, social activities, meals, musical worship, listening to tapes or watching videos. Much of the practical care, which the body shows one to another, will be through the family group members guided by the family group leaders. Participation of all is actively sought and encouraged not only in meetings but also in our life together beyond. Family groups often take responsibility for practical service such as in providing meals or setting up on Sundays. On Sundays we seek to express our threefold vision together with a specific focus on the teaching of the Bible.
